FRH organized a training session for midwives in collaboration with the Midwives Order. This session was part of a planned series of training sessions. However, we have agreed with the Syndicate to postpone the remaining sessions until the upcoming year. The first session was held in Baalbek.
The goal of the training was to enhance midwives' understanding of statelessness, the challenges faced by stateless individuals, the available solutions, and the rights and services to which stateless persons are entitled. The training equipped midwives with the knowledge and tools to identify stateless individuals among their patients and within their community. Additionally, it aimed to enhance midwives' understanding of their role in preventing and reducing statelessness. The session also introduced the proposed Civil Registration law to the midwives and engaged them in discussions about their role within this legislation.
